Inventory

Last updated on October 28, 2026

Inventory registers a hive or a super whose code ApiTracer doesn't know yet, without attaching any stock or apiary to it — an "empty" hive, ready to receive a queen later (Queen).

Mobile app only

Inventory only exists on the mobile app (Management tab). The website creates a hive directly from Apiaries & Hives, without this intermediate step.

On the mobile app

  1. In the Management tab, select Inventory.
  2. Scan the QR code of each hive or super to register — no apiary and no stock is asked at this step.
  3. The scanned codes are queued, then synced; a hive or super that's already known is left unchanged (rescanning an existing code does nothing).

Why go through Inventory rather than another scan

Registering a hive ahead of time, as soon as the label is stuck on, means it no longer depends on a future queen pairing, harvest or operation for its code to exist in ApiTracer: the code is ready to be found through Code info or used by any other scan from the next step on. It's the only way to build up a batch of empty hives and supers, ready for the season, before assigning them one by one.
