Types & Settings

Last updated on October 26, 2026

ApiTracer does not lock in any fixed naming: each operation configures its own honey, super, operation, and storage types, so the vocabulary used in the app matches exactly how it works.

On the website

Go to the Management menu to configure:

  • Honey types — the varieties of honey you produce (e.g. wildflower, acacia, lavender…), used during extraction to qualify a batch.
  • Super types — the different super formats used in the operation, each with its empty weight (tare): it's used to automatically calculate the net weight of honey at every weighing, without reweighing the empty super.
  • Operation types — the categories of interventions (inspection, treatment, feeding…) offered when entering data.
  • Storage types — the code ranges that identify your drums, tanks, and other containers.
  • Users — managing the accounts that have access to your operation, each with their own access level (PRO II and III plans).

Why configure your own types

These types are not simple labels: they then structure the statistics (production by honey type, breakdown of operations by category…) and the filters available throughout the app. Defining them carefully up front avoids having to re-categorize existing data later.

How do I keep tracking consistent when working as a team or across several apiaries?

As soon as several people enter information on the same operation, or vocabulary varies from one apiary to another, data becomes hard to compare: the same intervention can be named differently depending on who enters it. The usual solution is to set a shared vocabulary once, which everyone then reuses. That's the role of Types & Settings in ApiTracer: by defining honey, super, or operation types just once, then giving access to these shared user accounts, the whole team enters data with the same vocabulary — see also who can access the operation's data in the FAQ.
